Welcome to the Mysteries of Latin America podcast.
My name is Andrew Colón and welcome to the final episode of our series dedicated to the story of the disappearances of Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon, two young women from the Netherlands who went to Panama for some sun, fun and adventure. It was on an ill-fated hiking trip though, that these two young women disappeared and it’s still a Mystery as to What exactly happened to them.
We’ve called the podcast Secrets in the Jungle-The Disappearance of Kris and Lisanne, and I’d like to thank you for joining us here on Spotify, iTunes, Google Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts.
In this final episode, Part 3 we’ll look at some of the theories that may explain what happened, and we’ll let you know about some recent developments in the case that just might put the whole thing to bed.
If you haven’t heard parts 1 and 2, you might want to check those out first before continuing so you can get the full story.

Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon were two students from the Netherlands who planned to spend some time in the picturesque town of Boquete, Panamá beginning in mid-march of 2014.
Boquete, located in the western highlands of Panama and not far from the border with Costa Rica, is a charming town known for its picturesque landscapes and pleasant climate, coffee plantations and is a haven for people who love the outdoors and hiking, birdwatching, and exploring.
Kris and Lisanne went out for what was supposed to be a 3 and a half hour hike on April 1st 2014.
They never returned.
This is part 1 of a 2-part podcast where we'll look at what we know and delve into what could have happened to them.
Thank you for listening and sharing and cheers from Cancun

And now, on to this week’s episode….
Today, we’re gonna take a little trip to explore the story of a once-thriving tourist hub, that met a very eerie fate. Join me as we uncover the secrets of Epecuén, The Modern Day Atlantis in Argentina.

Healer Or Fraud? Pachita: The Story of One of the World’s Most Powerful Healers

Wednesday May 24, 2023
Friends, welcome once again to the mysteries of Latin America podcast. I’m Andrew Colón, your host, and in this episode we visit (and sort of re-visit) a compelling figure I touched on in our very first podcast.
Our first podcast was about Mexican scientist and researcher Dr Jacobo Grinberg, who had come up with his theories about how we are all part of a vast brain network he called the Hologram, or Lattice, or matrix…his inspiration for this matrix was born after meeting, observing and studying the mystical Mexican Shaman, known originally as Barbara Guerrero, but who the world would later simply know her as Pachita.
Her mystical abilities stunned thousands, from common people to Presidents, actors and artists, and her legend still astounds people today.
Listen to know of the astounding healing miracles she allegedly performed, who she worked with and who she helped, her origin story and what her family legacy is today.

Hunting the Hunter: Tracking Down ”The Beast” Serial Killer of Latin America

Warning:
This podcast episode discusses details of true crimes that may be triggering or upsetting for some listeners. We encourage anyone who has been the victim of a crime or who needs support to please reach out to local law enforcement, mental health professionals, or support groups. Listener discretion is advised as this podcast deals with homicide, sexual assault and torture.
I didn't set out to tell a story about serial killers. But after learning about this monster, I had to tell the story of perhaps the most prolific and brutal serial killer in modern history.
On Abril 22, 1999 in a rural area of Colombia a man kidnapped a child--that he planned to rape and murder. A young man who heard the child’s cries for help saved the child by throwing rocks at the attacker, who managed to escape. After police learned what happened, a manhunt was organized using police cars, taxis and private vehicles, and the attacker was arrested as he came out of a field outside of town.
This was April…the attacker was held under suspicion until October 1999, and by that time he had confessed and given vital information on the brutal rape, torture, mutilation and murder of 147 minors, mostly young men and boys in Western Colombia, making him one of the world’s most prolific serial killers in modern history.
